Plant-a-Seed Program: Sta. Catalina Cooperative Turns Over Gardening Tools and Equipment to DAJMHS Senior High School Students

Del Carmen, President Roxas, Cotabato — June 11, 2026

Sta. Catalina Cooperative turned over gardening tools and equipment to the Senior High School students of Don Antonio Jayme Memorial High School (DAJMHS) on June 11, 2026, in Del Carmen, President Roxas, Cotabato, as part of its “Plant a Seed” Campaign Program, led by the cooperative’s Member and Community Development Unit (MCDU). 

The turnover ceremony marks another milestone in the cooperative’s continuing commitment to supporting youth development and environmental awareness within the community. Through the program, students received essential gardening tools to help them cultivate their own school gardens, giving them practical and hands-on experience in agriculture.

The “Plant a Seed” Campaign Program is designed to instill in students the value of sustainable living by teaching them how to grow their own food and care for the environment. Beyond providing technical gardening skills, the initiative also hopes to cultivate a sense of responsibility, patience, and environmental stewardship among the students.

Sta. Catalina Cooperative reaffirmed its dedication to empowering the younger generation through programs that combine education with practical, real-world application. The cooperative expressed optimism that initiatives like this will inspire more students to appreciate the importance of sustainable agriculture and environmental care.

DAJMHS officials and students expressed their gratitude for the donation, noting that the tools and equipment will greatly benefit their gardening activities and hands-on learning experiences.

We’re proud to share this exciting milestone — Sta. Catalina Multi-Purpose Cooperative is now an accredited partner in promoting better nutrition through Iron-Fortified Rice!
Thank you to DOST XII – Cotabato Provincial Office for the trust and partnership. This achievement is a big step forward in our mission to serve healthier and stronger communities.
During the Day 2 of the DOST-FNRI Technology Transfer Training, Sta. Catalina Multi-Purpose Cooperative successfully completed the on-site, hands-on training on Iron-Fortified Rice (IFR) production — held right at Rice Mill 2, Annex Compound, Brgy. Labu-o, President Roxas, Cotabato on May 29, 2025.
With the expert guidance of DOST-FNRI and the full support of DOST XII – Cotabato Provincial Office, our team gained practical skills in operating and maintaining IFR equipment — paving the way to officially receive our Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA)
We are proud to be the FIRST licensed IFR producer and supplier in North Cotabato — committed to promoting better nutrition, food innovation, and community well-being.
